FAQs
Do I need to book in advance?
Our life drawing sessions are all drop-in, so just turn up on the day. The painting and sculpture sessions require advanced booking as they have to limit numbers. This info is marked on the sessions page. We do ask that artists try to arrive in good time to set up before the session are due to start.
Do I have to be a club member to attend sessions?
No, everybody is welcome.
What do I need to bring?
Just bring your art materials such as pencils, charcoal, paints, paper, canvas. We have drawing boards, easels, tables and provide tea, coffee and biscuits in the break!
Do you have an art shop?
No. We do not stock any art materials to sell, but the art shop Clarkes Stationers is just two doors away and they sell a very extensive range of art equipment.
I’m worried that everybody might be better at art than me?
Don’t worry! – all sessions attract very mixed ability, ranging from complete beginners to professionals and everything in between. You will not be judged on your work and there is no pressure to show your work to others.
Do you have wheelchair access?
Our main studio is on the first floor and unfortunately there is currently no wheelchair access. Please contact us if you have any other questions regarding non-mobility impairments.
Is the club easy to find?
Yes – we are located in central Brighton. When you are in Bond Street, look for the Costa Coffee shop. Directly opposite that you will see an alleyway. Our club sign can be easily seen. The club is just 30 paces down that alley. To see where we are on a map, click here.
Do you have exhibitions?
Yes. We have our annual club exhibition as part of the Brighton Festival in May every year. All attendees are invited to exhibit up to three artworks created or related to club sessions.
